The Foundation's activities reflect its mission to provide enriching experiences for disadvantaged youths and to promote goodwill toward the less fortunate among us.
The following lists initiatives undertaken by the foundation.
1) Foster cultural awareness and appreciation of the arts through
uplifting entertainment
December 2010 - Sponsored a US Junior Dream Academy mentor/mentee holiday outing
in Houston,Texas. The Academy pairs up a young adult mentor with a
disadvantaged child mentee.
December 2008 - Sponsored two children (ages 6 and 8) to the Radio City Music Hall
Christmas Spectacular.
2) Support vacation or travel experiences for disadvantaged
inner-city children
Summer 2011 - Sponsored one child from the Houston area to a trip to summer camp.
Summer 2008 - Sponsored one child from the Greater Newark area for the Fresh Air Fund
summer camp.
3) Raise awareness and sensitivity toward disaster victims and ad hoc cases
April 2010 - Clothing and supplies drive in the Houston, TX area to benefit Haiti's earthquake
victims. In coordination with Light of the World Christian Fellowship, we collected
clothing and supplies for the victims and raised over $600 to help an outreach
organization ship a full container of food and supplies to Haiti.
January 2010 - Mass e-mail reminding contacts to donate to relief efforts for Haiti's earthquake
victims; donations made to American Red Cross, Partners In Health, Doctors
Without Borders and Yele Haiti (see links).
December 2008 - Raised $200 for hurricane victims in Haiti; proceeds donated to Partners In Health
(phi.org).
September 2008 - Mass e-mail reminding contacts to donate to relief efforts for hurricane victims in
the Caribbean islands.
